The Islington Hotel sits in a prime location in Hobart with commanding views over Mount Wellington. This small, intimate hotel was built in the Regency style in 1847 and has been renovated into a luxury urban lodge with heaps of Tasmanian charm.

The 11 rooms have been sumptuously decorated with local art and antiques, plush fabrics, and beautiful pieces from the owners’ travels. Guests sink into comfortable king-sized Islington Angel beds, enjoy the use of complimentary iPads, and admire views of the gardens and Mount Wellington from huge windows.

The hotel restaurant is located in the modern conservatory, and dishes are made from local, organic, seasonal produce, often with an Asian twist, and served with Australian or premium European wines.

After a busy day exploring, retreat to the hotel to wander around the landscaped gardens, read in the library, or relax in one of three comfortable salons.

Location & Getting There
Located in the Central Business District of Hobart, Islington Hotel is just a 20-minute drive from Hobart International Airport, which is in turn a 60-minute flight from Melbourne or 105 minutes from Sydney. Australia's major airlines operate daily flights to Hobart from most major cities.

Accommodation
The small boutique hotel is comprised of 11 sumptuously furnished guest rooms, each featuring unique design characteristics. The Courtyard Room features a private veranda and courtyard; the Garden Room opens onto a flagstone terrace that leads to the gardens and pond; the Attic and Wellington Rooms boast magnificent views of the mountain tops while the Holebrook Room overlooks the gardens.

Activities
Located close to the shopping and gallery-hopping areas of Salamanca Place, guests can visit Salamanca Market, Coal Valley wineries, Mount Wellington, Bruny Island, Wineglass Bay, and many more. Other places of interest include Bonorong Park Wildlife Centre, Cadbury Chocolate Factory, Battery Point Historic Village, Royal Hobart Golf Course, and the Moorilla Museum of Antiquities.
