Set in a spectacularly remote location on northern Oman’s Musandam Peninsula, Six Senses Zighy Bay is backed by the craggy Hajar Mountains and overlooks a mile-long sweep of golden beach. Arriving at this luxury resort is equally dramatic; the only way in is by 4x4 over the mountains, paragliding or zipping in on a speedboat.

The resort has 82 stone villas dotted amongst palm trees. Each villa has its own pool, wine cellar, outdoor dining area, Arabic summerhouse, and personal butler. For the ultimate indulgence, book a beachfront villa or one with its own in-villa spa.

Foodies are spoilt for choice with fine dining options ranging from the signature mountaintop restaurant serving international cuisine to Shua Shack and Spice Market, which both embrace the tastes of Arabia.
