One&Only Gorilla’s Nest

Cushioned in the foothills of the Virunga volcano range, One&Only Gorilla’s Nest is a working tea plantation on the edge of Nyungwe National Park, thought to be one of the oldest forests in Africa. Boasting incredible diversity including over 13 different species of primates, representing 20% of all the apes in Africa, and 75 different species of mammals, this is the place to enjoy a once-in-a-lifetime encounter with the rare and majestic mountain gorilla in its own natural habitat.

The beautifully designed private sanctuaries seamlessly blend with the location. Each of the 14 lodges and seven suites are designed to frame nature, encircled by trees for ultimate privacy, with views of Pyrethrum farmland, lush shambas and Eucalpytus forest.

Soak up the wonders of the environment through authentic Rwandan flavours, showcasing vegetables and herbs harvested from the resort’s own gardens. The Nest is the resort’s main restaurant; the Nest Bar and Pool Bar serve refreshments and snacks all day.

There is also an indulgent One & Only Spa and fitness centre.
