Amandayan

Perched atop Lion Hill in China’s Yunnan region, Amandayan looks over the UNESCO-listed Old Town of Lijiang and Jade Dragon Snow Mountain. This property is built in the local Nakhi style, while its outdoor pool and cinema bring a new level of luxury to a town widely regarded as China’s most beautiful.

The all-suite hotel has 35 spacious units, arranged around peaceful courtyards. The contemporary rooms are constructed from local wood and fabrics, while woodcarvings infuse them with traditional Chinese style. Bathrooms have freestanding tubs and walk-in showers, while the Amandayan Suite features a large terrace overlooking the Old Town and mountains.

Man Yi Xuan restaurant offers a menu of traditional Nakhi cuisine. The teahouse serves Chinese and Western teas with sweet treats, while the library provides cocktails and light bites.

Explore Lijiang and the surrounding villages, trek through peaceful countryside, and visit local attractions, before unwinding at the spa and catching a film at the private cinema.

Location & Getting There
Amandayan is located a 40-50 minute drive from Lijiang Sanyi International in the Yunnan region.

Accommodation
There are 35 elegantly-appointed suites, each boasting views over Lijiang, the countryside, and the surrounding mountain ranges. Materials and fabrics from the region such as Yunnan pine were used to decorate the suites. The Deluxe Suites and Courtyard Suites feature spacious bathrooms and comfortable living areas. The Courtyard Suites are built around peaceful courtyards while the Deluxe Suites are located on the first floor. The large Amandayan Suite offers two bedrooms.

Activities
There are many hiking trails in the Yunnan region, the most famed being the Tiger Leaping Gorge. Strolling through the World Heritage Site of Lijiang Old Town is not to be missed. You can also encounter numerous ethnic local minorities who will be keen to share their culture with you.
